其实背后的理论非常简单。当LED显示深色的时候需要更少的电量,而当显示黑色的时候则完全处于关闭的状态,因此完全不会消耗电量。而LCD则需要背光层,当显示黑色的时候背光层依然是点亮状态,只是用阻挡层阻止背光层发出的光,而这也意味着显示黑色时LCD依然需要消耗电量。因此可以得出结论:显示黑色时AMOLED屏幕比LED屏幕更节能。

为了验证AMOLED的这个优点,Greenhot使用了配备1080p AMOLED屏幕的新款Moto X进行了一次测试。测试方法主要是使用Reddit Sync应用程序分别以正常模式(界面以白色为主)和夜间模式(界面以黑色为主)来显示。
